Sompo Japan [...]. will become a contact point for customers on human rights issues related to supply chains, as with other risks, and will provide information and proposals that meet their requirements. In addition, SOMPO Risk and OWLS will work together to provide various services related to business and human rights, such as support for conducting human rights due diligence, in response to customers' requests. In addition to human rights due diligence, OWLS is also experienced in services such as dialogue and awareness-raising with management, which is necessary to address human rights issues in the supply chain, and the formulation of management and sustainability strategies, including materiality identification. In addition, Sompo Japan will support its customers' human rights-oriented management practices in cooperation with SOMPO Risk, utilising its strengths, such as its network with NPOs and NGOs and cooperation with law firms in Asia. Furthermore, Sompo Japan provides insurance to cover the costs of providing early remedies to victims of unforeseen human rights violations (forced labour, child labour) in supply chains in Japan and overseas after the implementation of human rights-respecting management practices by customers. Specific coverage includes the cost of investigating the cause of the human rights issue, legal consultation, victim relief consulting and other costs necessary to provide remedies to the victims.
