Myanmar: Garment workers report labour rights abuses incl. unpaid overtime pay; incl. co. response
In August 2024, it was reported that workers at Bontech Manufacturing are facing a series of violations, including low overtime pay, wage cuts if workers take leave, workers forced to work overtime without their prior consent, workers being fined if they are late to the factory in the morning with their names written on a whiteboard in public, workers working overnight all night and not getting enough sleep before the morning shift, impacting workers’ health, excessive production targets and verbal abuse to pressure workers to meet targets, workers who are injured not given paid leave and coming to work with bandages because they are afraid of not being paid, pregnant workers having to work overtime, no toilets in the dining hall and insufficient transport home.
In December 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Delta Plus to respond. It did not.
