OECD issues guidance on conflict-zone minerals trade

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development has issued draft guidance to help companies avoid buying and trading in conflict minerals...Mining Ministers from eleven African countries also last week endorsed a system designed by the OECD to trace the origins of raw materials. Representatives of key manufacturing firms including Ford Motor Company, Intel and Motorola also pledged to implement the OECD traceability system.
