Coupang Fulfilment Service, a subsidiary of e-commerce giant Coupang, has initiated legal action against a lawyer who alleged that the company blacklisted over 16,000 individuals to hinder their reemployment or monitor them. According to the lawyer, the blacklist included union members and contained reasons for refusal to hire, such as health issues and workplace harassment. If proven, the practice could violate the Labour Standards Act. Coupang denies the claims, arguing the lawyer manipulated data for political purposes.
