Ricardo Monlui addressed the issues surrounding sugarcane in his writing. He served as director of the printed El Político, and owner of the digital portal elpolitico.com.mx, as well as president of the Association of Journalists and Reporters of Córdoba and the Region. He was also the press officer of the National Union of Sugar Cane Producers CNC.
