Ronal David Barillas Díaz was an Indigenous Xinka leader, a member of the Xinka parliament and a member of the Committee of Communities Affected by the Sugar Industry. He was an advocate for the environment and the right to consultation in the face of extractive projects such as mining activities of the Canadian company Tahoe Resources Inc.
