2 leaseholders detained in case over fatal Moscow market fire

…Police detained two leaseholders within the case over fire in the Moscow market in which 17 persons were killed. The detainees leased the quarters where the fire broke out…"Police detained the director general of the Start-2 company and a director of the Albacet company within the criminal case over a fire in the Kachalovo market. The bodies of the victims are badly burnt; supposedly, they are all Uzbek citizens," the press service said. The fire broke out on an area of some 50 square meters in a two-storey structure adjoining a hangar in the Kachalovo market… The structure might have been used as a dormitory…According to preliminary reports, the fire might have broken out because of thermal effect of a heater. Criminal proceedings were opened over Article 219, Part 3 of Russia's Criminal Code "violation of fire safety rules which resulted in the death of three or more persons".
