Engineer Jesús Javier Ramos Arreola was killed on 28 September 2018 at his home in the town of San Rafael, Tlalmanalco, in Mexico, as reported by the Center for Human Rights, which denounced that he had been threatened prior to the killing. Jesús Javier was a defender of the territory of Cerro de Tenayo: a hill allegedly "devastated" through extraction of stone material (material that come from rocks and are later industrialized for the construction) that is used in the works of the New Airport in Mexico city (NAIM). The threats against him allegedly "intensified after Jesús Javier Ramos participated in a press conference to demonstrate his support for the Peoples' Organizational Platform against the New Airport and the Aerotrópolis".
