“More than 60 ACCA Members Gathered in Addis Ababa for Regional Meetings”, 23 September 2014:...[A]bout 45 civil society organizations of the African Coalition for Corporate Accountability (ACCA)...gathered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia...to bring grassroots issues to...[the] United Nations...African Regional Forum on Business and Human Rights...a multi-stakeholder forum intended to promote further implementation of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights...[I]t was hard to miss the strong and articulate participation of ACCA members...[who] rang[ed]...from national-level...to provincial organizations, to grassroots groups....to representatives of affected communities...[and] covered the entire spectrum of...Forum topics, including multi-stakeholder dialogue, extractive industries, investment in land, access to judicial remedy, operational-level grievance mechanisms, an African strategy for the business & human rights agenda, strengthening implementation of the state duty to protect, [etc]...[Following the forum] ACCA members...designed...a governance structure for the coalition... articulated...a vision, mission and strategy...generated options for an action plan; and...elected a Steering Committee to lead...its next phase...
