Alcoa response to concerns about Bakhuys project, Suriname

Alcoa is a company that lives by its values. We bring this approach to Suriname through our mining joint venture with BHP Billiton and our own projects. We are taking the lessons learned from our early engagement with stakeholders in Suriname and are creating a more robust and inclusive formal engagement process to ensure closer relationships with the local communities. Discussions have already commenced with community members and will continue as we seek their input on our proposed activities.
