Company Response

13 Oct 2008

Author:
Danie De Klerk, Ali Baba Foods

Ali Baba Foods’ response to allegations by the Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU) that the company’s action led to the shooting of workers by police

We are concerned at the misinformation being spread regarding the true sequence of events and status of affairs relating to this matter and would therefore wish to correct the record and reply as follows:...The Company refutes FAWU’s allegations that it and the [So. African Police Service] somehow elected to work together and take[s] exception to the suggestion that the Company would use the SAPS as “security guards”.
