AstraZeneca Recognises World TB Day [broken link - kept for users' reference]

...[S]ince 2002, AstraZeneca and the British Red Cross have worked in partnership to help vulnerable communities in Central Asia and sub Saharan Africa combat the threat of TB and the challenge of dual TB/HIV infection…By supporting the Red Cross and Red Crescent’s local networks of trained volunteers and nurses, we have been able to help people successfully complete their TB treatment and through targeted educational campaigns raise awareness of the danger of TB and TB/HIV to the wider community. Local projects are currently underway in the countries of in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Lesotho, South Africa and Liberia.
