The matter you reference is a dispute involving one former Maersk Drilling employee that is currently being adjudicated in accordance with Azeri law in the Azeri courts. The matter is ongoing and therefore, as a matter of policy, we cannot comment further at this time.

Report for 2016 on Evaluation of the implementation of legislation on labor, economic, social and civil rights in Azerbaijan’s oil sector

[Unofficial translation of report extract:] This report was developed by experts of Oil-Worker’s Rights Protection Organization Public Union (OWRPO PU) on the basis of applications and complaints of employees working in oil sector of the country...Problems in implementation of legislation of the country's oil sector are reflected in the report...During the reporting period Oil-Workers’ Rights Protection Organization Public Union appealed to the court related to complaints of 75 employees and landowners, prepared protest to appeal and cassation and protected their rights. Hearing with SOCAR Complex Drilling Works Trust, Deep Water Jacket Factory, BP, Karasu Operating Company, "Altus Intervention AS" company, "QinterraTekhnologies AS" company, "Schlumberger Overseas SA", "Schlumberger logelcoInc", SWIFT and other companies continue...Litigations were on “reinstate in work”, property right, salaries, compensation and registration of labor injury and other claims...
