Break in career costs women their rights [UK]

Women who take a career break to bring up their children do not automatically retain employment rights, an employment tribunal has ruled. In a ruling with implications for thousands of working mothers, an employee of Barclays has been told that she cannot bring a case of unfair dismissal against the bank because she did not have continuity of service.
