Trade unions and labor organizations...fear that CAFTA will worsen labor conditions, decrease wages and increase the number of people employed in the Export Processing Zones (EPZ)...About 65 TNCs [transnational corporations] have factories in the free trade zones in Nicaragua, most are US, Taiwanese and South Korean companies in textile and technology such as Sears, Gap, and Ford.
