Cambodia: Phnom Penh Municipal Court sentences a massage parlour owner to 2 years imprisonment for offering illegal prostitution

"Court convicts massage parlour owner over prostitution", 29 April 2019

Phnom Penh Municipal Court ... convicted a woman and sentenced her to two years in prison for offering illegal prostitution services at her massage parlour in Meanchey district.

Judge Kor Vandy identified the convict as 24-year-old Eang Sreylis, owner of Sreylis Massage Shop in Stung Meanchey district’s Russey I village.

Judge Vandy said Ms Sreylis was arrested ... and charged with procurement of prostitution...

Captain Meng Hour, a police officer with the municipal anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection department, said Ms Sreylis was arrested ... after police collaborated with the court to raid her massage parlour.

Cap Hour said police had known about the sex services offered at the massage parlour before the raid. He added that he often disguised himself as a motorcycle taxi driver and entered Ms Sreylis’ massage parlour.

Cap Hour said after collecting evidence and compiling a report, his department sought a search warrant from the Phnom Penh Municipal Court prosecutor...
