Cambodia: PM calls on authorities, parents and the public to protect child's rights and eliminate child labour

"Protect children from child labour: Hun Sen", 2 June 2019

Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on local authorities, parents and the public to join hands in protecting children in order to eliminate all forms of child labour.

Mr Hun Sen’s appeal was made in conjunction with the celebration of the International Children’s Day ..., under the theme of ‘Promoting child’s rights by eliminating all forms of child abuse’.

Mr Hun Sen said that over the past five years, about 30,000 children were rescued from the worst forms of child labour, and about 180,000 children were prevented from being abused in child labour and are receiving skills training...

He said that the celebration was reflective of the government’s commitment to promote the implementation of child rights.
