Recently there has been a new initiative to establish binding international standards for transnational corporations… It must be absolutely clear that a draft Treaty must ineludibly contain, among other things…1) Recognition of the obligation of TNCs to respect international standards on human rights…and civil and criminal liability…2) Joint and several liability of TNCs, their subsidiaries of fact or law and its suppliers, subcontractors and licensees for violations of human rights committed in the context of their activities…3) Civil and criminal liability for executives of transnational corporations (managers, board members or the Board of Directors)…6) The obligation of TNCs to pay its suppliers and subcontractors reasonable prices for their products and services so that they can pay their employees and workers decent wages which allow them and their families an appropriate standard of living…
