Webinar: Accountability in Action – Addressing stewardship misalignment with global asset managers

Accountability in Action: Addressing stewardship misalignment with global asset managers

Wednesday, May 28, 2025 – 4pm CEST/ 3pm BST/ 10am EDT/ 7am PDT

Recent high-profile exits from investor-led initiatives like Climate Action 100+, coupled with regulatory pressures in the U.S. have exposed a disconnect between the values of asset owners and those carried by their asset managers in company engagements and proxy voting. After giving time for asset managers to align their stewardship practices to those expected by their clients, some asset owners are now turning to the use of watchlists and mandate terminations when there is persisting misalignment.

Join us for a timely conversation with PGGM, People’s Partnership, and the NYC Comptroller’s Office, three leaders at the forefront of driving accountability on sustainability issues. This session will explore some recent examples of asset owners drawing on their policies to set clear expectations and redeploy capital to asset managers with better risk, return and stewardship profiles.

Speakers:

  • John Adler, Chief ESG Officer, NYC Comptroller’s Office (US)
  • Leanne Clements, Head of Responsible Investment, People’s Partnership (UK)
  • Colin Tissen, Investment Strategist, PGGM (The Netherlands)

Who should attend: Asset owner representatives (staff and trustees), trade unionists, and other collaborators.
