Farmers in Tiomin case lose [Kenya]

…Eight [Kwale] farmers…have lost an attempt to nullify the special lease given to Tiomin Kenya…[T]he farmers wanted a constitutional court to declare the lease null and void…[,]…[that] the decision…contravened their Constitutional rights [and] …a declaration that Tiomin had enlisted the State’s coercive power…Justice…Nyamu, had further been asked to issue restraining [orders for] Kwale District Commissioner, District Officer, chairman of the Kwale County Council, Tiomin and three other Tiomin employees…from entering the farmers’ land…or intimidating them…[T]he judge ruled that it would be illogical to issue restraining orders…[and] observed…[no] infringement on…constitutional rights.
