Fighting HIV Depends on Managers' Commitment [Mozambique]

Preventing and fighting against HIV in Mozambican workplaces requires commitment on the part of their managers, according to Cornelio Balane, the Executive Director of the Association of Businesses against AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis (ECOSIDA). Balane told AIM that small companies are the ones that show least commitment by their managers to HIV/AIDS activities. They even consider that participating in a lecture on HIVs a waste of time and money..."The small companies are the most difficult to mobilise", said Balane. "Their managers are very concerned about income and forget that questions of health are very important. We have had many difficulties with this group of companies".
