HC [High Court, Gujarat] to mediate in GM strike [India]

Gujarat high court's Mediation Centre will try to work out a solution to the ongoing strike at the Halol plant of General Motors India (GMI) next Tuesday...The Halol plant of GMI is witnessing labour unrest since March 16 after...[a] strike call alleging that workers are being subjected to excess work and the company had violated...regulations outlined in the Industrial Safety and Health Act. GMI officials on the other hand are insisting that it has never violated any rules and it follows best practices in the industry.
