Indian women angry at curbs on night work

Attempts to stop women working at night in India’s southern state of Karnataka, which includes the bustling technology hub of Bangalore, are under fire from activists who say the law is discriminatory. The outcry follows moves by Karnataka’s assembly to update and enforce a widely ignored law from 1961 that restricts women from working after 8pm to ensure their safety.
