LABOR: ILO, Philippines Sign "Decent Work" Deal

The Philippines, one of four countries selected for the initial three-year phase of the International Labor Organization's Action Program for Decent Work, signed an agreement yesterday in Manila with the ILO and employers' and workers' groups to launch the program in the country. The Philippines is bound under the joint declaration to support freedom of association and collective bargaining and to seek the elimination of forced labor, child labor and discrimination in the workplace.
