日本:政府、福島第1原発処理水の海洋放出を決定

政府は13日、東京電力ホールディングス(HD)の福島第1原子力発電所で保管されている放射性物質トリチウムを含む処理水を海洋放出する方針を決めた。

菅義偉首相は、処理水の処分について「福島第1原発の廃炉を進めるに当たって避けては通れない課題」と指摘。その上で、「基準をはるかに上回る安全性を確保し、政府を挙げて風評対策を徹底することを前提に海洋放出が現実的と判断し、基本方針を取りまとめた」と語った。

経産省によれば、海洋放出にあたっては処理水を海水で100倍以上に希釈する一方、モニタリングを強化するなどして風評被害の抑制を図る。約2年後をめどとする海洋放出に向けて、東電HDに対し準備を進めるよう求めるという。
