Vientiane Times报道说,根据省自然资源和环境部的初步检查,在Viengkeo和Nathaen村发现了污水,村里从河中收集了4至5公斤死鱼。

水已被与老挝铁路一部分的隧道相关的建筑工地泄漏的化学物质所污染。

目前正在对受污染的水进行测试,当局已建议所有居民在确定结果之前,不要从河中消耗水。
