Company Response

American Eagle Outfitter's response to BHRRC Gender-based violence & Harassment report six-month update

...Since the BHRCC issued its report in April, we have taken the following steps to augment our efforts:

  • Conducting wide-spread monitoring of our factories in India, which continues
  • Speaking directly with workers in a variety of locations, both inside and outside of factories. We have added days to the monitoring process to interview as many workers as possible
  • Focusing on issues that include potential exploitation for women workers, such as their domestic migrant status and recruitment process, their off-site living situation, and their knowledge and access to grievance and support systems
  • Continuing to work closely with BSR’s HERProject, now through the newly formed industry collaboration Empower@Work, for future deep engagement project with our factories focused on GBV prevention and response
