Arcelor Mittal committed to working with Liberia communities

...ArcelorMittal Foundation allocated $45,000 and building materials in 2013 for the construction of a new clinic in Gbapa, Nimba County...Currently ArcelorMittal Liberia operates a hospital in Yekepa, about 15 minutes from Gbapa, which is open to all of the surrounding communities for treatment at nominal fees. $2.49 million US dollars in compensation were paid in 2013 for resettlement, primarily in communities impacted by our mining operation...Compensation for all crops are paid in line with international best practices...$40 million US dollars have been provided for the building of the Ganta Yekepa Highway...We are currently constructing seven wells in addition to the fourteen previously installed in Nimba County...The Zolowee water system is also being addressed...ArcelorMittal Liberia continues to provide more job opportunities in the area...ArcelorMittal Liberia is committed to working with all of our communities. Each year $3 million dollars is provided to Bong, Nimba and Grand Bassa...to further support developmental projects...
