EU 'call for evidence' for Better Regulation review still open for feedback until 4 February

"Communication on Better Regulation", 28 January 2026

This initiative aims to make the EU better regulation more efficient and proportionate, in order to shape better, simpler, and more targeted EU laws that deliver for people and businesses. It envisages measures to:

  • strengthen the proportionate application of better regulation, with a focus on achieving results;
  • make the consultation system smarter and
  • ensure that EU laws are clearer, more straightforward, easier to implement and transpose, more enforceable and less burdensome.

Feedback period: 07 January 2026 - 04 February 2026 (midnight Brussels time)

The Commission would like to hear your views.

This call for evidence is open for feedback. Your input will be taken into account as we further develop and fine-tune this initiative.

The initiative aims to improve the Commission’s better regulation framework to make sure that EU initiatives continue to deliver as expected and remain fit for purpose and future challenges in the current geopolitical and economic environments. Specific objectives and areas for action:
