France takes legal action against AliExpress and Joom over childlike sex dolls
France will file legal complaints against ecommerce platforms AliExpress and Joom for selling sex dolls that resemble minors, its commerce minister said, as Shein awaits a judicial ruling on a three-month ban. [...]
Alibaba and Joom as well as Shein have recently come under investigation by French authorities for selling the dolls.
Other ecommerce platforms including Temu, Wish and eBay are also under investigation for selling illicit products on their marketplaces. In some cases these included weapons such as machetes and brass knuckles, as well as having pornographic materials accessible by minors.
Temu said it did not allow third-party sellers to list products that failed to meet applicable regulations. Wish and eBay did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Shein said it had intended to outline the “significant enhancements” made to its systems at the hearing, and remained committed to working with authorities and strengthening its compliance framework.[…]
