Handbook on Improvement of Working Environment for Migrant Workers in Supply Chains

"サプライチェーン外国人労働者ガイドライン実践ハンドブック" October 2022

[ Japanese-to-English translation: Business & Human Rights Resource Centre ]

Business & Human Rights Lawyers Network, Lawyers Network for Foreign Workers, and Lawyers' Network for Foreign Technical Interns, collaborating with Global Compact Network Japan, published Handbook on Improvement of Working Environment for Migrant Workers in Supply Chains in October 2022.

After the publication of the Guidelines, we received requests from business stakeholders for more concrete explanations on how to put the Guidelines into practice. Therefore, with the cooperation of the GCNJ, a series of study groups were organised from January -June, a series of study sessions were held.

This handbook explains the main points of the Guidelines, presents the initiatives reported through the series of study groups, and then identifies concrete actions that companies, investors and financial institutions, civil society and government can take to improve the working conditions of foreign workers throughout the supply chain.
