Henry Márquez Escudero is a biologist and leader of the Veracruz fishermen who oppose the Tuxpan-Texas pipeline in Mexico. On 30 December he was reported as missing by his family after allegedly finding his truck empty on a roadway. Thirsty-six hours later, after alleged protests from the community, Henry Marquez Escudero was returned home. He was allegedly beaten and is receiving medical attention.
