In letter to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), Indigenous group and NGO express concerns over CleanTech Lithium operations in Chile. Incl. comments from company

On September 20th, 2024, the Indigenous Community of Comuna de Copiapó, along with Earthworks, submitted a letter to the ASX raising concerns that CleanTech Lithium (CTL) had failed to disclose key environmental, social, and regulatory risks associated with its lithium project. The letter highlighted issues such as environmental harm, noncompliance with Chilean laws, and violations of Indigenous rights to Free, Prior, and Informed Consent, urging the ASX and Australian Securities and Investments Commission to ensure full disclosure of risks and compliance with regulations, or halt CTL’s public listing.

The company was invited to comment on the allegations presented by the organisations.
