India: At least seven child labourers rescued from inhumane working conditions in garment factory

At least seven child labourers were rescued by a joint team of police, district task force and NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) from a garment unit in Ludhiana, Monday.
A raid was conducted on the basis of a tip-off when the children were found working as laborers and rescued, said the officials.

Manish Sharma from Bachpan Bachao Andolan said that seven children, including five boys and two girls, were aged 10 to 12 and all are school dropouts.
The team found that the children were being forced to work in inhuman conditions in the garment factory for long hours. The rescue team also learnt from the children that the factory owner made them for hours without a break...
