Jesús Rodríguez is a land and territory defender in the community of Azacualpa, Honduras. On 11th May 2019 he and his colleagues were protesting against the detonation of dynamite near the community cemetery by mining company Minerales de Occidente, subsidiary of Aura Minerals when he, along with two colleagues, was arbitrarily detained by the police. Finally he was set free and it was confirmed that no crime had been committed.
