Three forest rangers, José Ángel Pelcastre, Ventura Ojeda and Florentino Castro, were killed in the municipality of San Salvador El Verde, Puebla, while a fourth was shot and wounded in the early hours of Sunday. The members of the community of San Andrés Hueyacatitla were scraping a ditch on the slopes of Iztaccíhuatl, to prevent the passage of vehicles used by loggers to steal timber.
