We are aware of the serious situation adversely impacting workers at Kawaguchi Manufacturing, Sdn. Bhd. It runs counter to the expectations we have in the RBA Code of Conduct.
We want to make you aware that for some time we have been working with several companies that are customers of Kawaguchi in an effort to protect the workers impacted by this situation. These include RBA members Sony and Panasonic and a non-member company that have met with Kawaguchi representatives and in some cases been to the facility We are also engaging local NGOs to help in determining the next practical steps.
The RBA and these entities are working collectively to help the impacted workers. We hope to share further progress as appropriate to the complexity and sensitivity of the situation in the near future.
