On 12 April 2021, Madhav Prasad Guragain, producer and reporter with https://www.nepalaaja.com/ (a web-based news portal), was reportedly assaulted and threatened with death by the holder of a construction project for reporting about unpaid wages for construction workers in Kathmandu, Nepal. According to the victim, during the attack, media materials were vandalized and he even received death threats. Guragain was reporting on the progress of the Kathmandu View Tower under construction at an old bus park in Kathmandu Guragain, and had reached the site with one of the sub-contractor who had complained of nonpayment after finishing his construction assignment.
