Mattel...was plunged deeper into crisis today as it announced its third recall of potentially dangerous Chinese-made toys this summer...The latest incident involves almost 850,000 units around the world, including some bearing the Barbie name, and follows tests by Mattel which revealed that they contained "impermissible levels of lead"...Mattel said that Holder Plastic Company, a contract supplier, had outsourced the painting of parts of its Barbie toy-sets to two Chinese firms, Dong Lian Fa and Yip Sing. "DLF and YS used uncertified paint and are no longer producing toys for Mattel," said the statement...Mattel's Fisher-Price brand is also affected.
