On 18 December 2023, human rights defender Milena Florez received calls on her personal phone from an individual claiming to be a member of the illegal armed group "AGC" in Colombia. The caller demanded a meeting and revealed detailed knowledge of the location and activities of her organization. Milena Florez, along with the Movimiento Ríos Vivos, has also faced threats for many years for their opposition to the Hidroituango hydroelectric dam in Colombia.
