Mopani signs safety MoU with 4 mine unions [Zambia]

Mopani Copper Mines (MCM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with four trade unions on health, safety and environmental issues. The four unions are Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ), National Union of Miners and Allied Workers (NUMAW), United Mineworkers Union of Zambia (UMUZ) and the Zambia Union of Nurses Organisation (ZUNO). MCM chief executive officer Danny Callow said during the signing of the MoU on Thursday evening that the event signifies yet another milestone in the mining firm’s quest to enhance health, safety and environmental commitments in all its operations.
