"Myanmar of Hua Meng garment factory claims that labor rights are being violated", 23 May 2023

According to workers [they] are not allowed to use their phones in the workplace, handing them over to security personnel. [The factory does not give] maternity leave…to pregnant workers, The worker said that they are asking more than they can do when it comes to [targets].

The factory has a population of around 2,000 [supplying] ZU brand, SinSay brand…

"The OT workers…told me that they [were] forced to work [overtime]…Those who returned to the village were in trouble….." Said the unsatisfied worker.

For more than 2,000 workers at the workplace, they are experiencing unsanitary conditions, such as lack of hygiene in the dining area, lack of adequate drinking water, and heatstroke due to the hot weather.

"There are 15 toilets in the factory, only 6 are good. The remaining 9 have no water, the jets are not good, and the water pipes next to the toilets do not open and close. Water is sent into the drain. There is no trash can in the toilet. The toilet is placed outside the sidewalk. It is very dirty. It is inconvenient to use women's menstrual products. The sanitation workers…are not provided with uniforms or PPE," the worker said…
