On 7 July 2024, seven people, including five activists and two leaders of Ne damo Jadar group, Zlatko Kokanović and Nebojša Petković, were detained and criminal charges were filed against them for blocking a railway in Loznica, Serbia. They were protesting against revival of Rio Tinto's lithium mining project. Zlatko will be charged with jeopardizing traffic with dangerous means and attacking officers and Nebojša is facing charges for allegedly attacking on-duty police. Other activists are accused of obstructing officials in the performance of their duties. Both leaders are part of Ne damo Jadar group, which is a part of the Association of Environmental Organizations of Serbia (SEOS), and reside near the site of the mine in Gornje Nedeljice village. All seven detainees were later released by the police.
