Paulina Gómez was an active human rights defender who resisted against mining activity in her Wirikuta territory in the state of San Luis Potosí. On 19th March 2020 she disappeared and her body was found on 22nd in the neighbouring state of Zacatecas. Her killers and the motive are still unknown.
