To date, adequate compensation has not been provided for these adverse effects...In virtually all the regions along the Chad-Cameroon pipeline route, numerous cases of HIV/AIDS have been recorded...HIV seroprevalence has risen sharply in virtually all the villages in the pipeline area...the work performed and quality of the equipment delivered to communities and individuals were substandard...[Fishermen] have been impacted in a number of ways [by the project]...the company established a dump in which large amounts of waste was buried...There are many other cases of accident victims who have been left to their own devices, with no resources to take care of themselves...the services offered to them [Indigenous People] by FEDEC failed to take into account their cultural specificities and did not meet their priority needs.
