“Ministries including Environment and Women & Family join the 'DeepSeek Block'… Ministry of Education issues advisory to universities” 6 February 2025

Following the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family have also decided to limit the use of China's artificial intelligence (AI) service, DeepSeek.

…The Ministry of Environment (…) registered DeepSeek as a harmful website and blocking access, citing concerns over security as it manages sensitive information related to national infrastructure, as well as public health and safety.

…The official letter also included a warning that when using generative AI for work purposes, the input of sensitive information such as personal data or confidential business materials is prohibited. It further stated that when undertaking information technology projects using AI, security reviews by the National Intelligence Service must be adhered to.
