The National Human Rights Commission of Korea has called for the government to protest seasonal foreign workers from abusive brokers, as it recognises a first case of human trafficking following a petition filed by a Filipino worker. The complaint said the broker kept tight control over the workers, exploiting their status as migrant workers and subjecting them to numerous exploitative practices including withholding passports, wage theft and physical abuse.
