Cinco comunidades de la provincia Nor Lípez (suroeste) del departamento de Potosí podrían ser afectadas por la extracción de 50 mil metros cúbicos día (MCD) de las reservas de agua de la región que son usadas para el procesamiento de minerales de la empresa San Cristóbal. Los impactos de las actividades de la empresa minera San Cristóbal en el medio ambiente fueron presentados en diciembre en el estudio “Minando el Agua”...La firma MSC, propietaria de la mina, trasladó a algunos pobladores “directamente afectados por sus actividades” a otras regiones o “ha hecho otro tipo de compensaciones”, dijo Crespo...se corre el peligro de secar el agua superficial dejando sin este recurso a los pobladores que se dedican a la producción agropecuaria y agrícola...
