Tran Thi Nga, Vietnamese human rights activist and blogger known for her advocacy concerning migrants and land rights, was found guilty by a Vietnamese court for allegedly posting information online intended to "to spread reactionary ideas and distort guidelines and policies of the Vietnamese Party and State". The court sentenced Nga to a nine-year jail time and five years house arrest during a one-day trial six months following her arrest.
