Wanxiang Group did not respond
The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Wanxiang Group to respond to the JATAM report citing the company as among those with subsidiaries that have participation in PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP), which focuses on nickel mining and processing. The report alleges that nickel mining resulted to “disappearing food reserves and water sources, deforestation, the diminishing biodiversity, the widespread pollution smearing water, air, and sea, as well as continuing social conflicts”. The company did not respond.
